One of the advantages of working for a company like Bookmans is the ability to digest music, movies, games, and books effortlessly. As new material makes its way in our stores we eat it up and spit it out – in the form of reviews so that you, our avid reader and listener, can decide just what goes on your shopping list for your next trip to Bookmans. And here we are back at it again.

Album covers surrounding the title Favorite Tracks of 2018 so far

I have always been ready to share my love of music with customers, whether it’s cult classic albums or my excitement about new releases. So far, 2018 has thus far been a great year in music, and these are the tracks I recommend everyone to add to their 2018 playlist!

God’s Plan – Drake

Drake Album Cover for Scary Hours

Scary Hour! Drake is back, and he’s got plans. It’s like Drake is taking you for a glide through the clouds with this beat. “It’s a lot of bad things, That they wishin’ and wishin’ and wishin’ and wishin’. They wishin’ on me.”…nonetheless, don’t think his plan involves letting wishes affect his plans.

Woke Up – Dave East ft. Tory Lanez

Dave East Album Cover for Paranoia 2

Dave East is a musician that makes me tell everyone I meet, “if you haven’t heard of him yet, then get on it.” East has given us a downpour of his music over past year since his last release of Paranoia, and now East is back with more storytelling raps on his new mixtape Paranoia 2.

Blame – Ekali & ZHU

Ekali and Zhu's Blame Album Cover

ZHU has always been one of my all-time favorites. On this collaboration between heavy bassist Ekali and enigmatic house music ZHU, the pair float through the bouncy sound waves of their journey through blame.

Miss You – Cashmere Cat, Major Lazer, & Tory Lanez

Cashmere Cat, Major Lazer, and Tory Lanez Album Cover for Miss You

I’m already addicted to this track. Wanna talk about time? Miss You is one that will radiate through peoples ear waves well into springtime and beyond.

There you have it, my 2018 playlist – so far. If you like the music or the review, keep your eyes peeled to hear more from me. Be sure to check out our employee recommendations when you’re at our stores searching through our shelves. Our selection is always changing and new music makes its way across our counters daily, so there’s always something new to recommend.
