Big Brothers Big Sisters of Tucson
The local chapter of the youth-service charity organization, dedicated to providing quality mentoring to children. Bookmans is a favorite spot for "big" brothers and sisters to take their "little" counterparts.
Educational Enrichment Foundation
EEF provides resources to expand and enrich student learning in the Tucson Unified School District, and organizes Shoe Shopping Day, to which Bookmans donates financial resources annually.
Friends of the Tucson-Pima Public Library
A non-profit collective of local, avid library advocates dedicated to supporting libraries and the services they provide. Bookmans regularly donates books to the organization.
Guitars in the Classroom
This organization has been inspiring and training classroom teachers to integrate singing and playing guitar into children's daily school experince since 1998. Bookmans pays for GITC instruction at both our Grant and Speedway stores.
Literacy Volunteers of Tucson
LVT believe that everyone should have the opportunity to learn to read, and they exist to improve reading, writing, and English-speaking skills of adults who read at or below the sixth-grade level, free of charge. Bookmans is proud to be LVT's principle corporate sponsor.
Reading Seed
The Reading Seed program was born in 1995 and merged with the Rotary Club of Tucson in 2004 to expand its staff of volunteers. Their goal is to help all children in Pima County in the first, second, and third grades read at or above grade level. Bookmans is a financial contributor to the organization and we provide Bookmans gift certificates each year as prizes during their "Reading Seed Board Game" literacy drive.
Sun Sounds of Arizona
Sun Sounds provides audio access to information for those in the Southwest who cannot read print due to disability. Bookmans donates money and merchandise every year that allows Sun Sounds to share the gift of reading with all people, regardless of disability.
