Winner of Phoenix New Times' "Best Way to Catch a B-Movie" honors, the Mamacita and Grindhouse Redux brings a gore-fest double feature to Chandler Cinemas just in time for Halloween: The Craving and The Wizard of Gore!
Grindhouse Redux is presented by Bookmans Entertainment Exchange.
Squeam and squeam again! The Midnite Movie Mamacita is at it again...and in honor of Halloween, she's treating you to tossed cookies!
Just in time for the witching season, the Valley's Schlock Cinema Czarina Supreme will host a tasty double-feature of two seldom-seen gore classics, presented on the big screen in rare 35mm prints. See them both - if you dare! - in a one-night-only screening on Fri, Oct. 26 at the Chandler Cinemas.
The stomachs start a'-churning with "The Craving" (aka "Night of the Werewolf"), European horror filmmaker Paul Naschy's kitschy 1980 gore-fest about dueling vampires and werewolves battling it out in 16th century Spain while naked senoritas egg them on! Ay carumba!
But be sure to leave room in that barf bag for the second big feature, shlockmeister Herschell Gordon Lewis' notorious "The Wizard of Gore." A 1970 follow-up to the director's legendary lunch-losers "Blood Feast" and "2,000 Maniacs," "Wizard" is a queasy caper about a deranged nightclub entertainer whose act (which involves torturing volunteers from the audience!) never fails to leave customers in the aisles...in pieces. You'll laugh yourself sick!
The double feature begins with a 9 p.m. screening of "The Craving," followed by "The Wizard of Gore" at 11 p.m. Admission is $6, cash only, no single feature discounts. (No ATM on site). The Chandler Cinemas are located at 2140 N. Arizona Boulevard, Chandler (behind Target).
