HUMOR: Words of Wisdom for Wizards

        By: Andrew Coltrin

Veteran Wizard Maker (by-appointment-to-Bob!) Andrew Coltrin helps you to avoid the pitfalls and pratfalls that pave the way to children's birthday parties and bar mitzvahs this Harry Potter season.

        MOVIES: Abby

        By: cratedigger

Sure, everyone knows The Exorcist... but it's a lucky cratedigger indeed who possesses a VHS copy of Abby.

MOVIES: Licensed to kill... and Bonded too

        By: Jody P

Less cartoonish and a mushy love scene in the middle... but is this what we're looking for from 007?

        CINEMA OF THE FORSAKEN: Nightwatch

You know it's not enough that Hollywood feels a need to dump unending loads of festering bile upon us, its Forsaken Public. They also feel the need to do all within their power to keep us away from actually good movies that happen to come along.

        TV: Heroes

        By: Scott

What if, in time of profound global distress, Mother Nature created new forms of life to deal with it? This new NBC show has us hooked! With comic book 'wait for it!' plot development, we're eagerly awaiting Mondays.... in itself a heroic feat!

        BOOKMANS WANTS YOU: Chuck Palahniuk!

        By: gEnE roberdeauX

Gene's always on the lookout for interesting additions to the Speedway staff. Today he's got Chuck Palahniuk, author of Fight Club in his sights.

        MOVIES: The Descent

        By: Jody P

A dark (literally), scary movie about a spelunking expedition gone very wrong. I guess I would recommend this movie, though I spent the majority of the film squirming in my seat thinking how nice it would be to go hang out in the nice well-lit, spacious bathroom for about ten minutes.

        MOVIES: The Infernal Departed

        By: Jerry P

"The Departed" is not a recycled Hong Kong B-movie; it is a reimagined masterpiece by Martin Scorsese; it is a story he makes his own, as he turns the streets of South Boston into the mean streets of New York City, his familiar turf for stories about cops and criminals.

        EVENTS: ComiCon 2006

        By: Joel Y

I arrived in San Diego off of a 45 minute flight that took 3+ hours. I then took the shuttle from my hotel which took forever. I walked into the San Diego Convention Center relieved and sweaty as hell. If it were any more humid I could start swimming.
