        BOOKMANS WANTS YOU: Beck!

        By: gEnE RoberdeauX

gEnE always is on the lookout for the best music employees. When Beck's off the road, maybe he'd like to kick it at Bookmans with an employee discount... Let's see.

        MUSIC: Rodrigo y Gabriela

        By: Scott H

Exotic, tight harmonies, percussive acoustic guitars and a solid background in... thrash metal? They hail from Mexico, via Ireland, and their story is as interesting as the music. Catch them Fri, Sept 7 at the Marquee and Sat, Sept 8 at the Rialto. Tickets available at all Bookmans locations.

MUSIC: Trans Siberian Orchestra: aka Xmas Rocks!

        By: Sammy Hain

Went to the Trans-Siberian Orchestra concert last night. Wow, that is a group which never goes half way. They added even more spectacle since last year.

        EVENTS: Japanesian Barbie Live

        By: Jenny G

Oh gosh, I have to go move my couch and approximately 10 zillion boxes of books...but before I do, let me quickly mention this band that I had the pleasure of seeing at Bookmans tonight!

MUSIC: Depeche Mode's "Playing the Angel"

        By: Guillermo the IVth

Beginning with the air raid siren as the first sound on their latest release "Playing the Angel", Depeche Mode recalls the masses to worship at its long-standing new wave/synthpop temple.

        MUSIC: The Church: My Religion!

        By: Jesuskrishna

Having been a life long music fan and one who has immersed himself in all kinds of music for decades now I have quite an extensive list of bands/musicians that I love but there is one band that stands above and beyond all the others on that list, the Australian Band the Church.

        EVENTS: ComiCon 2006

        By: Joel Y

I arrived in San Diego off of a 45 minute flight that took 3+ hours. I then took the shuttle from my hotel which took forever. I walked into the San Diego Convention Center relieved and sweaty as hell. If it were any more humid I could start swimming.

        MUSIC: Jrock, A Not-so-guilty Pleasure

        By: C'loni

It's no secret to my friends and co-workers that I am a shameless Jrock Fangirl. Yes, I am. For those of you who aren't familiar with the term, Jrock is Japanese Rock a.k.a. rock bands from Japan.

MUSIC: Neko Case, Fox Confessor Brings The Flood

        By: Heather C

I read a review a while back that said Neko Case's voice could drive demons to weeping and angels to burning, and I've yet to hear a better description.

CONCERTS: James Brown Genessee Theatre, Waukegan, IL

        By: TinSoldier

Wow, I can't say that The Godfather of Soul was totally coherent with his 90 minutes onstage at the Genessee, but when he shakes his thang, it is obvious that he still has something.
