Having been a life long music fan and one who has immersed himself in all kinds of music for decades now I have quite an extensive list of bands/musicians that I love but there is one band that stands above and beyond all the others on that list, the Australian Band the Church.
Most of you know at least one Church song, the great hit from 1988 that sounds as fresh and spine-tingling today as it did then Under The Milky Way.
While I love that song and always will, I often feel that it's a shame that it is the only song by the Church that most people have heard. They've have so many more songs that are of equal quality and just as as mesmerizing as Under The Milky Way and have now been together for over 25 years and are still putting out phenomenal music that is both accessible AND experimental.
Unfortunately they have not been to Arizona to perform live in almost 20 years so the last few times they've toured the states I had to travel to see them(well worth it) but they are at last coming back to Az!
They'll be playing The Rialto Theater here in Tucson Saturday July 22nd and in Marquee in Tempe on Sunday July 23rd. Anyone else going to either of these shows? If you have the vaguest interest in this band's music GO, it will be well worth it to you!
I've been a fan of this band for just under 20 years and the fact that they have just gotten better and better astonishes me.
