        EVENTS: The Insomniacs Play Phoenix

        BY: BOOKMANS

This Portland- based band will bring their unique brand of blues to Bookmans' Party in the Park on Sat, Nov 3, but you'll have a chance to catch them again at our Phoenix store on Sun, Nov 4!

Sun, Nov. 4, starting 3:30 p.m. at Bookmans Phoenix - catch Portland's The Insomniacs tear it up on their way out of Arizona with a set of vintage jump blues, an up-tempo blues style influenced by big band music.

The band garnered Best New Act honors at the Muddy Awards and have recently signed to Delta Groove Productions. Their new CD, Left Coast Blues, will be available for purchase in-store, direct from the band.

"They buff a bright, authentic, sheen on what can be an old and dingy genre full of contemporary posers and wannabes... the quartet is schooled, competent, tight, and inventive."
        - Don Campbell, The Oregonian

“Left Coast Blues is an album that should create attention with it’s danceable shuffles, tasteful guitar, and rollicking piano. The Insomniacs definitely have a winner here.”
        – Greg Johnson, Blues Notes

Be sure to bring your dancing shoes! The Insomniacs will also be playing Bookmans' Party in the Park on Sat, Nov. 3 at Reid Park as part of Bookmans' 30th anniversary celebration. Don't miss out!

Check out The Insomniacs MySpace page to see a full tour itinerary and hear a few songs.
