July 19th and 20th: the Northern Arizona Celtic Heritage Society presents the 11th annual Arizona Highland Celtic Festival at Foxglenn Park in Flagstaff, featuring Celtic food, music, dance, competitions, and guest of honor Diana Gabaldon, who will be signing at the Bookmans booth.
If you've never been to a Highland festival, be prepared: you'll rarely see participants who are as passionate about their heritage or as serious about having a good time. The 11th annual Arizona Highland Celtic Festival at Foxglenn Park in Flagstaff promises to be two full days of music, dancing, food and drink, Scottish athletics (we've got our fingers crossed for caber-tossing), and general revelry.
Bookmans will be there helping maintain the Celtic spirit, and we're thrilled to announce that Diana Gabaldon - New York Times bestselling author of the wildly popular Outlander saga - will be signing at our booth on Saturday, July 19th, following her 3 p.m. reading (place of reading to be determined). We hear she's currently hard at work writing - the follow-up to A Breath of Snow and Ashes, perhaps? We'll be sure to ask her - keep an eye on bookmans.com for an interview with the woman behind the continuing story of Jamie Fraser and his time-traveling wife, Claire.
