On Tues, Dec 4, several members of Bookmans' staff joined the EEF at Payless ShoeSource on Grant/Alvernon for Shoe Shopping Day, an annual event that provides shoes for disadvantaged TUSD students.
Bookmans founder Bob Schlesinger was on hand as volunteers assisted 112 students with choosing and trying on shoes throughout the morning. Each student also received a free book and t-shirt, courtesy of Bookmans, as well as school supplies provided by CitiCards.
"We've been sponsoring Shoe Shopping Day for over 10 years," said Sheila Kressler-Crowley, Bookmans Community Outreach. "And we look forward to supporting the Educational Enrichment Foundation in this endeavor for many years to come."
Bookmans would like to thank Michelle Fuentes of the Educational Enrichment Foundation and Chris Molina, Clothing Bank Manager, for their hard work in organizing this very special event, which benefits disadvantaged students in the Tucson community.
