On the second Friday of each month Bookmans Flag plays host to Adult Craft Night. We attempt various crafts and DIY projects we’ve stumbled upon on Pinterest or seen in the Blogosphere. Because most of these projects involve using tools like the hot glue gun, heavy duty adhesives like Modge Podge or small weaponry like X-acto knives, we deemed this event for adults. But don’t worry! All are welcome; we simply ask that all young wippersnappers be supervised by an adult. Every month we partner with different organizations and businesses of the Flagstaff community and tackle fun crafts and projects.

Adult Crafts

We’ve made candle holders, DIY jewelry with Animas Trading Co. and popular Mason Jar Terrariums with Warners Nursery. Our December craft was a twist on the classic Christmas ornament. We used scraps of city maps to create an ode to our hometowns. If you can’t be home for the holidays, it’s comforting to bring a little bit of home to you.

Adult Craft Night only gets better in 2015. In January we kick things off by bringing back the folks at Warners Nursery for another go at the popular Mason Jar Terrariums. Supplies are always provided, but feel free to bring your own container. Other projects we have planned are DIY bookmarks using old book spines for love of reading in February and custom decorative chalkboards in March.

What kind of fun projects do you want to tackle at Adult Craft Night? We want to hear from you! Adult Craft night is a collaborative event, so if you have an awesome idea for a project we could do let us know. Leave any ideas in the comments below and don’t forget to follow us on twitter @bookmansflag and check out our Instagram feed for all the cool crafty projects we’ve created thus far.
