November is all about shopping local, and Tucson makes it so easy to be impressed by local offerings! Every year, we highlight some of our fave places to get our grub on, shop, and chill in our communities. Tucson is full of AMAZING places to dine. After all, we are the first UNESCO-designated City of Gastronomy. From tamales to epic sandwiches to Sonoran hot dogs, we’ve got hands-down some of the best food around. That’s why we simply had to devote an entire post to some of our favorite places to dine in Tucson.

Tanias “33”

Located on Grande Ave just one block north of St. Mary’s, Tanias “33” provides authentic Sonoran style Mexican food sure to fill you up. Are you of the veggie persuasion? Have no fear! It’s not just cheese enchiladas and veggie burritos for you. Tanias only offers the best of everything including vegan fideo and vegan soy chorizo (to name a yummy few). My personal fave is the potato tortilla soup. nom nom nom

Planet of the Crepes

One of our fave food trucks is Planet of The Crepes. Who doesn’t love crepes! Whether sweet or savory, these lovely little pastries provide quite the delight and no one does it quite like Planet of The Crepes! We recommend the Morning Glory. Bon appetit.

Miss Saigon

If you live in Tucson and have not had Miss Saigon yet, literally, what are you doing with your life?!?!?! Not only does this Tucson staple provide delicious Vietnamese cuisine but it has also been voted Best Of Tucson 11 years running. With five locations throughout Tucson, Miss Saigon’s is single-handedly bringing Vietnamese cuisine to the masses. We suggest Miss Saigon’s special beef noodle soup or their spring rolls.

Wild Garlic

This local eatery offers steak and seafood dishes sure to die for, even if a cloud of garlic follows you after dining there ;-). It’s worth it! Family owned and operated, Wild Garlic was featured as Happy Hour of the week on Tucson Foodie and highlighted in the Arizona Daily Star. Wild Garlic will soon be opening its doors at a new location, so run – not walk – on opening day! Don’t miss the grilled garlic shrimp on warm brie either. That’s a must-try!

There you have it. Some wonderfully tasty restaurants sure to satisfy taste buds everywhere! Bookmans is all about sopping, eating and giving local. Help us celebrate our community and keep it local this busy holiday season.
