Coloring has grown up, and become quite sophisticated. One of the newest trends in relaxation and creativity is adult coloring. When the trend first began, Bookmans was bombarded with requests for adult coloring books and we responded quickly!

Coloring

Bookmans has a large variety of adult coloring books in a wide range of styles, but we didn’t want to stop there. Bookmans East began our Adult Color Club and it was well received by the public, receiving its own three page article on the front page of the Arizona Daily Star Home section of the Sunday newspaper.

Research has shown that coloring is an excellent way to relax, but it’s also a great cognitive exercise, helping to maintain memory and focus while relieving stress. Another bonus of coloring is that it is low cost entertainment that requires minimal supplies and absolutely no training. If you want to try adult coloring, stop by your favorite Bookmans and we will provide all of the materials for you. Grab one of our fantastic coloring books, a box of crayons, markers or colored pencils and you are on your way. If you enjoy adult coloring, you can use your Bookmans trade credit to purchase more supplies and continue the fun at home.

The options for expressing yourself have become virtually endless. You can color your own calendar or explore the Day of the Dead with illustrations. If you are interested in journaling, we have a Zentangle journaling book where you can explore your world through verse and art. If you enjoy traveling you can try our World Explorer Guided Activity Journal. This interactive journal is the perfect way to record your travels, thoughts and experiences. One of our favorite adult coloring books is Stories from Once Upon a Time by Umberto Brunelleschi, which includes color scenes from your favorite classic tales inspiring you to write your own illustrated tales. If you have little ones in your life, include them in the fun with Tea Party; A Color, Punch Out and Play Set. This book takes your tea party to the next level and is the perfect way to turn an idle afternoon into a treasured memory.

You can color alone, with family or make new friends doing something you truly enjoy by joining us here at Bookmans East. Your community is here and many of your friends and neighbors have stopped by to become coloring enthusiasts, so give it a try and come on by. Our regular group meets on the 2nd Friday of each month from 6:00P.M. to 8:00P.M. Not all of us are night owls, so Bookmans East added another date to its monthly schedule. Bookmans Adult Color Club also meets on the 4th Sunday of each month from 11:00A.M. to 1:00P.M. That’s right, you now have 2 dates a month to meet with friends – or make new ones – and explore your creative side. Our staff has fallen in love with coloring, and we are excited to share our knowledge and tips with you!
