Bookmans News

Join us again at the 2012 Pickin' in the Pines Bluegrass and Acoustic Music Festival sponsored in part by Bookmans. We'll be toe-tapping on September 14, 15 and 16 at the Pepsi Amphitheater at Fort Tuthill County Park.

This year's lineup includes Hot Rize, with special guests, Red Knuckles and the Trailblazers, Blue Highway, The SteelDrivers, Laurie Lewis and The Right Hands, and The Foghorn Stringband. Local and regional performers are also featured on the main stage, Burnett Family Bluegrass, Run Boy Run, Muskellunge Bluegrass, The Knockabouts, Zazu, Tony Norris and Bill Burke, Reno and Sheila McCormick, and Chuck Cheesman. Norris, Burke and Cheesman perform regularly at Bookmans Flagstaff.

The festival also features a band contest, children's activities, jamming, camping and a full slate of workshops, including instrument workshops, small-stage performances, children's performers, an emerging artist showcase, and a workshop by Stuntology's Sam Bartlett (who also performs with his band Cocks of the North).

Pickin' in the Pines is presented by Flagstaff Friends of Traditional Music. Tickets are available on their website or at Arizona Music Pro and the Wine Loft in downtown Flagstaff. Tickets range from $35-$85 and children 16 and under are admitted free to the festival.
