When I think about all of the great times I've had at the Arizona State Fair, I get goose bumps. I am not kidding, I love the fair! When I walk into the entrance and see all of the people, rides and the coliseum the rest of the world fades away for a few hours. Whether it is hearing the screams of adrenaline junkies on a ride or inhaling the scent of all the unhealthy food, I get goose bumps.

I don't ride many of the fair rides. Unfortunately everything makes me motion sick, but I will happily walk through the mid-way popping balloons with a dart, squirting water into a clowns mouth or throwing basketballs into a hoop and missing every time. I usually walk away with this year's popular stuffed figure and always have a blast doing it!

I am also a huge fan of the exhibits. I love looking at the children's baked goods competition, art and collections. I always tell myself that next year I will enter and ultimately procrastinate until I miss the deadline. This year debuted Days of the Dinosaur. In it's first tour of the U.S., the exhibit featured more than 30 life-sized animatronic dinosaurs and hands-on activities.

My favorite part of the entire day? Corn dogs. I don't care if I eat nothing else at the fair, I have to have a corn dog. This years new fair food trend was the fried pb&j sandwich and fried butter.

Smartly, the Arizona State Fair is working with the community during this downturn in the economy. On their website they have plenty of discounts with special codes, donations and a reading incentive! If you don't mind walking across the street there is a new parking area for only $5 in addition to rides and food for a dollar. If you aren't already follow @azstatefair on Twitter for more ways to win free food and rides.
