The Humane Society of Southern Arizona, in cooperation with Bookmans Entertainment Exchange, is proud to announce its 13th annual Books & More Entertainment Sale. The sale will be held at the Humane Society’s Companions for Life Center at 3465 E. Kleindale in Tucson on Saturday and Sunday, September 11th and 12th. The center is located approximately one block from the Humane Society shelter. The sale hours are 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. each day.

The entertainment sale will feature thousands of new and used items, including hard and soft-cover books, CDs, video games and gaming systems, VHS videotapes, DVDs, audio cassettes, books-on-tape, children’s materials, fine art, board games, software, etc. Most sale items will be priced under $4.00 with 100% of the proceeds benefiting the Humane Society’s educational and cruelty prevention programs. In addition to all the wonderful items for sale, the event will feature random discount periods, raffles, and giveaways!
The entertainment raffle offers the chance to win great prizes including a brand new PlayStation 3 system, gift certificates, books, music, videos, apparel and merchandise packages from local businesses including Bookmans, Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum, Fresco Pizzeria & Pastaria, Ace Hardware and more. Advanced sales of raffle tickets will be begin on Monday, August 23rd. Tickets can be purchased quickly and easily online at www.hssaz.org; or by calling (520)321-3704, Ext. 101, Monday through Friday; or in person at HSSA’s Companions for Life Center at 3465 E. Kleindale Road (Monday thru Friday during regular business hours). Tickets for the Playstation 3 Grand Prize are $7.00 each or five for $30.00. Tickets for all other prize packages are $5.00 each or five for $20.00.
One-hundred percent of the proceeds from the entertainment sale benefit the HSSA Community Outreach Department, which provides free or low-cost education, anti-cruelty and training programs to tens of thousands of people every year. The department boasts the state’s largest humane education program, but this program receives no public funding and is dependent on private donations and fundraising for its continuation.
