Bookmans News
A documentary based on the economic crisis of our times- big business and America's wealthiest versus the common man and working wages. The growing pressure of tax relief policies on the super rich and the questionable retirement of the middle class are catalyzing the impending implosion of the U.S. economy in the film "HEIST: Who Stole The American Dream" directed and produced by Frances Causey. Come see the film and discuss the importance of buying local with the nationally renowned organization Local First Arizona at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, July 11 at The Loft Cinema. Take the chance to come and meet Kimber Lanning, from our very own LFA and expert in the film, as well as Frances Causey and Business, Civic and Environmental Leader Nan Walden.
This film analyzes the breakdown of the economic structure through decades of poor choices and the favoring of corporate America by both the Republican and Democratic parties. Heist pulls no punches on faulting the crisis or possible paths of avoidance regardless of political party. Don't be fooled. This isn't a film that just complains about what went wrong and who's to blame, it also talks about what the American people can do to get back on track and build a secure and sustainable economy.
Keep in mind that you can make a difference by taking a stance and shifting only ten percent of your shopping to local businesses. Local First Arizona's Shift campaign shows you the science and the impact of shifting just ten percent of your purchases. As a member of Local First Arizona we believe that supporting local businesses strengthens our economy which in turn strengthens our community. Our commitment to our community has inspired us to even create our Bookmans Treasure Hunt. Each month we hide prizes from local businesses in local businesses. We tweet the clues and send you on an adventure to discover local stores. We have challenged ourselves with buying local and know you can too. Let's make a difference together.
