Reports to: Facility Manager

Summary: The Custodian insures the safety of our staff and customers, maintains our Bookmans fixtures, furnishings, restrooms and the Property Owners assets, while maintaining the interior and exterior of our stores in a clean and professional manner to enhance the customer's shopping experience and the staff's work environment.

Major Responsibilities:
The Custodian has job responsibilities in three areas.

1. Clean all areas of the building, its contents and store equipment for effective and clean operation/presentation.
➢ Contents include, but are not limited to: fixtures, furniture, counters, merchandising tools, and ceiling, wall and flooring finishes.
➢ Store Equipment includes, but is not limited to: fax machines, telephones, copiers, credit card terminals, TeleCheck terminals, shrink warp machine, Azuradisc and breakroom equipment.
➢ All Restrooms, Break Rooms, Staff Offices and Processing Areas include daily, weekly, monthly and quarterly periodic cleaning.

2. Maintenance of facility.
➢ Custodian is responsible for maintaining all janitorial equipment, including but not limited to, vacuums, slop sink, janitorial carts, etc.

3. OSHA Compliance.
➢ Comply with all OSHA standards and regulations that pertain to the Custodian position including using proper personal protection equipment, reading labels and MSDS.

Job Requirements:
Applicant should have a basic knowledge of cleaning processes. Must be dependable, a self-directed starter and take pride in work well done. Requires the ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions. It is necessary to communicate effectively. Work involves light to moderate exposure to unusual elements, such as extreme temperatures, dirt, dust, fumes and/or unpleasant odors or matter. Must be able to lift up to 40lbs.
