Every so often opportunity knocks for those who may not normally get the chance to be heard. Ignite Phoenix #12 is that opportunity. As a Serano sponsor of this iconic Valley event, we hope to see you at 6:30 p.m. sharp on Friday (today), May 4 in the Virginia G. Piper Theater at the Scottsdale Center for the Performing Arts for the sold out show that only comes twice a year.

Phoenix is a mecca of creativity, spirit, humor and passion and Ignite provides an outlet to those ready to hit the ground running with their idea, their interests or their insight. Anyone can enter but only 18 are chosen. Those select people get the chance to give a 5-minute presentation that includes 20 slides on any subject of their choice. Topics have covered everything from bicycles to Batman -- all with a 100% genuine passion for the subject presented to the large crowd anxious to hear what Phoenix has to offer. Presenters will put their hearts on the line tonight for the pure joy of sharing knowledge and opinions. We've heard rumors of presentations about Bronies (boys who like My Little Pony) and Women With Swords (or Swords or Stakes) that we can't wait to hear. Phoenix is our hub of happiness, but events like Ignite Phoenix solidify why we love calling this place home and these people our neighbors. Ignite Phoenix is known for being a sold out show. If you can't make it to this one, keep up with Ignite because they throw two events a year including Ignite Food and Ignite After Hours.
Bring your smart phone. Ignite Phoenix comes with its own app and Twitter hastag. This is the one time that tapping into social media while in a theater is accepted practice. Ignite Phoenix is one of our favorite shared experiences and we've talked about it here often. We'll see you there!
