The hundreds of young people comprising our Kids Club and 1317 programs are all incredible and the brother-sister duo of Paige (age 15) and Bailey (age 12) is no exception. You'll find them out and about doing cool and unique things all over Phoenix. Thanks to their equally incredible mom we got the scoop on what makes these two kids so hip.

What is your favorite character from books, comics, movies or video games?
Bailey: I really like a book called The Magic Thief by Sarah Prineas and the main character is Conn. He is really cool. He has a funny sense of humor and he’s really good at getting things done.
Paige: My favorite character has got to be, by far, Luke Triton from the Professor Layton video game series. (It's a really good DS game. I recommend it.) I like him so much because he's so cute and sweet. He loves animals and he's kind and polite to everyone. I guess I wish everyone was as nice as him!
What are your top five favorite books and one favorite place on the web?
Bailey:
#1 The Hound of Rowan (from The Tapestry series) by Henry H. Neff
#2 Dead Guy Spy (from Nathan Abercrombie, Accidental Zombie series) by David Lubar
#3 The Strange Case of Origami Yoda by Tom Angelberger
#4 The Ugly Truth (from the Diary of a Wimpy Kid series) by Jeff Kinney
#5 Fox Trot comic books by Bill Amend

Paige:
#1 The Hound of Rowan by Henry H. Neff
#2 The Fairy-Tale Detectives by Michael Buckley
#3 May Bird and the Ever After by Jodi Lynn Anderson
#4 Malice by Chris Wooding
#5 Birdwing by Rafe Martin
All of these are series that I strongly recommend. I actually found the May Bird book at Bookmans by chance and it's become one of my favorite series. I'm just sad there are only three books! As for my favorite place on the web, that's deviantart.com for sure! It's a cool place for artists to go and show off their art and meet other artists even if they're millions of miles away.
Where/when do you like to read?
Bailey: In my bed and any time I feel I want to.
Paige: I normally read in my room. I have a papasan chair with a lamp behind it, perfect for reading. I normally read when I get a new book from someone or when a series I enjoy comes out with a new book.
Tell us about your schooling experience.
Bailey: I am homeschooled so I don’t have teachers but I have my mom and dad. My favorite school thing to do is science but I really like doing community projects.
Paige: My favorite subject is Geography for sure! I'm not sure why. I guess I like hearing and learning about other countries and since I'm homeschooled my favorite teachers are my parents!
Aside from the discount, what made you interested in Kids Club?
Bailey: Well, I thought it was a good idea to join something like that.
Paige: Well, Bookmans is one of my favorite stores so why wouldn't I want to join their club?
What is your favorite thing about Bookmans?
Bailey: It has almost everything I need.
Paige: Favorite thing? That's difficult considering I like pretty much everything about Bookmans... but I'll have to say the general atmosphere of the store. It's just a really cool place and all the people there, whether it's employees or not, are super nice!

We've come to know these great kids and dig their tastes so we can assure you that their book and website recommendations should heavily be considered. Thanks for taking the time to let us get to know you Bailey and Paige and thank you for being young Bookmans advocates!
