We've fought censorship for over 36 years, so it was natural to partner with the University of Arizona for banned books week. They too have been liberating literature for over 30 years and to celebrate they will host an evening lecture with three authors known for pushing the envelope. Join Sandra Cisneros, Manuel Munoz and Helena Maria Viramontes at 8 p.m. Friday, October 5 at the Modern Languages Building Auditorium (room 350) the University of Arizona campus for readings and a discussion. The admission and enlightenment is free so take advantage.

Sponsored by the American Library Association this night of forbidden literature wouldn't be possible without the support of the College of Humanities and the Department of English, not to mention the numerous co-sponsors. Sharing their creative work, the authors will address how access to new ideas strenghten the bonds of community and how vital can literature be as a tool to free ourselves from cultural misunderstandings.
