Bookmans News

It's alive, alive and now that the weather has cooled down we reanimated our movies in the parking lot with Young Frankenstein at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday, October 27 at Bookmans Grant. The classic comedy about the dead brought to life, following in your family's footsteps and chasing a monster with a pitchfork are sure to get you in the Halloween spirit. We've devoted our first film of the season to one of the great comedians Gene Wilder, and a film where even grave robbing and organ theft (Abby Normal) are funny. This movie is free, family-friendly and fun, so long as you bring your own chairs. Otherwise you'll pay for it with a dirty seat of your pants and painful fanny syndrome from the hard ground. We will host an educational trivia round about comedian Gene Wilder with some monster prizes. Enjoy a film under the stars at a price that won't blow your budget.

We grew up watching the 1974 Mel Brooks classic and learned to annoy co-workers with memorable lines such as "Werewolf? Therewolf!" and "No, it's pronounced "Fronkensteen". Referencing films from the past with the black and white style and gothic set design this thirty-eight year old film had comedy that's smart and fresh today, including the timeless physical comedy of Peter Boyle and Marty Feldman. There's no hope for you if you don't laugh your pants off at this movie. See you there. You'll be able to spot us as the hysterical laughers.
