Bookmans News
Bookmans Flagstaff loves Fall. We start making the switch from ordering smoothies and iced coffees from Gina and the crew in the cafe, and start ordering chai lattes and white hot chocolates. We dig through our closets for our favorite hoodies but still leave the house in shorts and sandals. The big fun Fall brings with it is school, which is back in session. We love the excitement that all the new university students bring with them as they are introduced to our store for the first time, and it's great to see our favorite old classics leaving the shelves as teachers hand out reading lists. Ah, and the kazoos....
Wait a minute. Kazoos?
Yes, kazoos. You read that right. With the return of school comes the return of our Music In the Classroom program. Join our local musical cohort Chuck Cheesman in our cafe at 10 a.m. on Saturday, October 6 for a buzzin', hummin' and super fun time.
Thanks to Chuck, MIC and Bookmans, many Headstart classes throughout Flagstaff are entertained and educated weekly through the use of music and movement -- that's singing and dancing. Teachers receive a donation of a musical instrument to use during classes and musical workshops with Chuck to tell stories, teach lessons, and bring joy to their students.
Toddlers, tots, parents and anyone else who loves to sing, dance and march in parades are welcome to come on in for cupcakes, kazoos and community celebration. The leaves may be falling and the weather may be turning cold, but the outpouring of support for programs like these will keep all of us here at Bookmans warm, and might spark a little creativity in you, too. Welcome back, students, parents and most of all, teachers! We’ll see you there.
