New year, new rules, new $15,000 grand prize: Bookmans' Reading Challenge 2010 now open for sign-ups
Bookmans' Reading Challenge 2010 preparation is under way! We're expanding the challenge this year - in more ways than one! This year's competition kicks off on January 6, 2010 and is open to grades K-5 in public and charter elementary schools throughout Tucson, Mesa, Phoenix, and Flagstaff. And a state-wide challenge brings an even bigger prize - the Arizona school with the highest average of number of books read per student will win $15,000!
How can my school participate? If you would like your school to participate, please send an email to readingchallenge@bookmans.com with the following information: your school's name, mailing address, and the total number of students enrolled in grades K-5. Interested schools must submit this information by November 13, 2009. Sixty schools will be selected from our markets to participate in the 2010 Bookmans' Reading Challenge.
To learn more about the Bookmans' Reading Challenge, you can read about past winners and see samples of Challenge rules and a list of Frequently Asked Questions (both in .pdf). You can also contact the Bookmans' Community Relations coordinator in your area:
