Bookmans News

Local filmmaker Peter Leon stops by Bookmans Grant on Saturday, September 15. Leon has been directing films for years, often using his friends as actors. His films include Copper Creek, Darklands, and Hunnybear (all of which are available for purchase).

Leon's latest film L.A. Underground is described as "a boxing comedy" on the film's website. In L.A. Underground, a band is down on their luck when their record label goes under and ransoms the band's master recordings. To raise the money to buy their recordings back, they must enter the world of underground boxing. Check out the trailer for some truly cool footage. Keep your eyes peeled for Leon making an appearance as a hulking boxer ala Dolph Lundgren in Rocky 4. L.A. Underground premieres on Saturday, September 22 at the Grand Cinema Crossroads Six at 9 p.m.
