Bookman's Blog
All of my favorite things about Fall are related to Pumpkins. Pumpkin Lattes, Pumpkin Bread, Pumpkin Chai Muffins, Pumpkin Butterscotch Cookies, Pumpkin Seeds and Pumpkin Patches. That's a lot, right? I got to share my love of pumpkins with a hundred (maybe more) of my closest friends.

Because so many Halloween Parties are for adults and can be scary, Bookmans Mesa's Pumpkin Party was created for the little ones. We decided to make Halloween fun. We created decorations out of paper plates, construction paper, streamers and imagination. Using an orange paper plate as the base, we then cut out the eyes, nose and mouth of a pumpkin out of yellow construction paper. Then we used a glue stick to attach them to the paper plate. We cut crepe paper and streamers to glue to the back of the plate. Finally, we punched a hole at the top and attached a ribbon for a fun and easy new decoration for Halloween. You could easily attach a popsicle stick and make a mask instead or add even more embellisments to make it your own.

After crafting we played bean bag toss, painted our faces, enjoyed a cake pop and everyone took home a goody bag. We had a blast meeting new people, making a huge mess and enjoying a fun-filled Saturday Morning. Don't forget, at 10 a.m. every Saturday we host a weekly free Story Time that includes stories, snacks and take home crafts. For pictures of this event and more, please visit our Flickr page.
