We love our summers full of events to keep you and your children engaged, learning and cool. Check out what we did during our eighth week of summer kids events.
Speedway
If we don't make a mess, it is not a success. DJ Neon Daz-E from Isla Nueve was in the Bookmans Speedway house for our Summer Kids Events. DJ Neon Daz-E dropped some beats and spinned some songs while we got busy finger painting to translate the rhythm and beat of the music into incredible pictures of awesomeness. Check out some of the wonderful work created on our Flickr feed. This was so much fun! Thanks to all who came out and got messy.

Ina
This week's Summer Kids Event "Craft-a-palooza" turned out to be a great time for everybody. We got out our scissors, glue and imaginations to make cat visors. Imaginations overflowed and the kids turned out amazing creations -- not just cat visors! We had several dog visors, rabbit visors, a snake visor and even an Angry Bird visor. We also got out markers and colored beautiful butterfly and dragon mobiles to hang around the house. Wow! Check out our Flickr account to see the amazing creations we made this week.

Grant
We had an amazing time with this week's Summer Kids Event. We busted out a Bookmans Grant favorite, Comic Book Bookmarks! To make these awesome place-keepers we cut our favorite pictures out of some old comics, laminated them using packing tape, then punched a hole and pulled some yarn through it. Voilà! Check out photos on our Flickr page.

Mesa
In Mesa kids go back to school on August 8. Last week we created new T-shirts for them to wear and this week we created our own Bookmans book bags to carry our swanky new supplies. The first twenty-five kids went home with a pencil pouched filled with new school supplies and Bookmans swag. Look at the great bags the kids created on our Flickr page. We had a great time personalizing our bags, eating snacks and talking about our back-to-school plans. We're going to miss our weekly hang-outs with all of our new friends, but if we don't see you in the store we'll see you next Summer!

Phoenix
We're sad to wrap up our last Summer Kids Event but we had a blast with every single one of you! We had to go out with a bang, a LEGO bang that is. Brian from Bonanza Educational helped us host a wonderful back to school Lego party. He ran two different activities, first architecture based building contest followed by a animal making contest out of the large assortments of various Legos. Each activity helped the kids work on their team building and communication skills, one of the many reasons Bonanza Education takes “playing” to entirely new level. Prior to the building, kids enjoyed a delicious treat of custom-made Lego cupcakes, a juice box and everyone went home with a special Lego goodie bag. Look at the Lego fun on our Flickr page. Thank you to all those who helped us beat-the-heat this summer!
