A mysterious Scottish village appears for only one day every hundred years though to the villagers each century seems no longer than one night. No one from Brigadoon may ever leave or the enchantment will be broken and the site and all its inhabitants will disappear into the mist forever. Two American tourists lost in the Scottish Highlands stumble upon the village just as a wedding is about to be celebrated and their arrival has serious implications for the village's inhabitants. The Lerner and Lowe score includes the song Almost Like Being in Love. The live stage production of Brigadoon runs through Feb. 11 at The Broadway Palm Dinner Theater in Mesa.

The Broadway Palm Dinner Theater is lovingly known as "Mesa's Most Entertaining Destination" -- a well-deserved award! The theater operates under one basic philosophy, "Give guests great entertainment at a great value!" With each show guests enjoy a buffet-style menu with a wide assortment of options that includes a gluten free menu.

The original production of Brigadoon opened on Broadway in 1947 and ran for 581 performances. A 1954 film version starred Gene Kelly, Van Johnson and Cyd Charisse. A 1966 television version starred Robert Goulet and Peter Falk.

We have a pair of tickets for you to see Brigadoon from now until Jan. 12. Not only that but our lucky Ticket Tuesday winner will receive dinner as well. To get in the running for these tickets tell us your favorite Broadway Production turned film. If more than one of you responds we will randomize the winners. Winners will be notified by e-mail Wednesday morning or Wednesday sometime or maybe even Thursday, but you have only until Wednesday morning to comment. Comments are moderated and may take some time to appear. Please do not resubmit your comments -- one is plenty.

I've never seen "Chicago" on the Broadway stage (or any stage, for that matter), but I enjoyed the movie version of it quite a bit. I liked how the movie seemed to retain a lot of the flavor that you would get from watching such a production in a live theater. (Compare that to, say, Mamma Mia, which I did enjoy on stage and couldn't make it through the first half-hour on film--blech! That one lost a lot in translation.)

West Side Story... in my opinion THE BEST broadway production turned film ever made. Dare I say, the movie is better than the show?
