Phoenix's newest horror host Dr. Diabolic debuts a new variety show at 7 p.m. on July 6 during First Friday in the Phoenix Art Museum's Whiteman Hall and you, the fans of Ticket Tuesday, have first dibs! The show features live improvisational and sketch comedy, geek debates and outrageous movie clips. While museum admission is complementary, tickets to the variety show are $10 and will be available at the entrance to Whiteman Hall. All ages are welcome!

The show is emceed by Dr. Diabolic and Nurse Narcotica who are also the audience's hosts-with-the-most through an evening of performances by locals which include:

PUGS (Phoenix Ultimate Geek Smackdown). The Ultimate Geek can debate any topic on any side. During PUGS two people discuss a random topic and see who emerges on top by vote of the audience. Neither contestant knows which side they will debate, but can expect topics like, "Who has bigger daddy issues? Luke Skywalker vs. Batman". Presented by Jeff Moriarty (Ignite Phoenix) and Jonathan Simon (Lightning Octopus).

The Crimson Ghost. Enjoy the latest episode of this 1940s film serial. A criminal mastermind known as The Crimson Ghost (The Skull Logo used by The Misfits) is out to steal a device called the Cyclotrode, which can short-circuit all electrical current on the planet. This is presented by Dr. Diabolic and Nurse Narcotica with additional live antics and theatrics.

Becky B. Performing her signature live comedy routine and stand-up is Becky B., the local drag queen movie hostess whose beauty blends in with the Museum's artwork and whose witty sarcasm is "par excellence!" Verging on NSFW, she's the perfect addition to this freak show.

Galapagos Improvisation. Galapagos Improvisation is devoted to performing long-form improvisation based in strong ensemble work, characters and scenes rooted in truth. Whatever the specific form is, a single audience suggestion serves to inspire their exploration. Galapagos are based out of the Torch Theatre.

To get your tickets tell Dr. Diabolic which public horror film you would like to see him host! We have two pairs of tickets for our favorite responses. Winners will be notified by e-mail Wednesday mornings or Wednesday sometime or maybe even Thursday, but you have only until Wednesday morning to comment. Comments are moderated and may take some time to appear. Please do not resubmit your comments -- one is plenty.

RETURN OF THE LIVING DEAD could crawl out from the grave and smack it's worm and soil splattered self right onto that poster above. It'd spread it's bone rotted fingers wide, then splash a neon gore of paint across the top that read "it's party time!" .......what says 'camp' more that zombie + punk rock + 80's?! good luck to the venue for that one.....with the legion of calf-high Doc Martin wearing, Mohawk-sporting, chain-festooned legion of undead that descend upon it!
