Bookman's Blog
If you know your Latin, then you know Dracos dormiens nunquam titillandus means, "Never tickle a sleeping dragon." Potterheads are quite familiar with this motto of the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Last Saturday Bookmans Mesa opened its doors to large quantities of Muggles and Wizards all ready to hop on the Hogwarts Express!

Students eagerly waited to receive their Hogwarts Express boarding pass along with an End of Term Report that would lead them around to wizarding activites throughout the store. Their first stop was the Sorting Hat Ceremony where everyone was sorted into the four houses of Hogwarts: Gryffindor, Slytherin, Hufflepuff, and Ravenclaw. They participated in Third Year Fine Arts by creating their own Owl Puppet, Hogwarts House Tie Bookmarks and House Ties to show off their school pride. A visit to Honeyduke's Sweet Shop made sure that everyone had enough energy to continue on their journey.

Everyone took a photo in front of Hogwarts Castle at our free photo booth. We thoroughly enjoyed the funny pictures many people created. Then everyone had their turn learning about the possibilites of starting a local community Muggle Quidditch Team and we had lots of practice by riding our brooms around the store playing "Find the Snitch Runner".

Once everyone finished they returned their End of Term Reports to us and received a free Hogwarts Handbook, The Standard Book of Spells, Harry Potter buttons and more. Thank you to everyone who came out to Party at Platform 9 3/4; we have even more ideas for next year. To view pictures of this event and others, please visit our Flickr page.
