It’s Banned Books Month at Bookmans! Bet you didn’t know that the beloved Roald Dahl classic James and The Giant Peach has been the subject of censorship? Appearing on the American Library Associations List of 100 Most Frequently Challenged Books 1990-2000. That’s right this wonderful tale of giant produce and scary sky rhinos was deemed unreadable on many occasions due to it’s “Magical elements and references to drugs and alcohol.” Obviously nonsense so we decided to throw a party! Join Bookmans Midtown as we plant peaches with magic green crocodile tongues and watch the 1996 film of the same name. Enter to win a Bookmans Prize Pack of popular banned children’s books!
