Announcing Big News!! Bookmans East is proud to host Tucson Weekly featured writer, local author and creator of an original experimental web series Brian Jabas Smith debuting his first work of fiction Spent Saints. Get to meet this rising star and home grown talent in person for readings from his work and a screening or his 12 episode web series plus a Q & A after on Sunday, March 26th at 2pm at Bookmans East, 6230 E. Speedway. Brian has previously published as a music writer in multiple collections and has been a contributing writer for the Tucson Weekly but has branched out into fiction with Spent Saints. Smith also collaborated with 11 different directors to produce a 12 episode web series of shorts, each one in a unique style from narrative film to experimental. Smith will begin his nation wide tour of the book and web series after his Bookmans East event but he has already been busy promoting his latest endeavors. Smith published a 4,000 word excerpt in the Phoenix Times and completed an interview on Frank’s Morning Show. Spent Saints has been extremely well received by the public and critics alike. Selling out on Amazon and Barnes & Noble, copies of Saints have been increasingly difficult to obtain. You can grab a copy before the event at Bookmans East or hold out to get a signed copy at the event.
