Okay… Enough with the puns.
Bookmans East has a ginormous Animal Welfare Family ranging in animals of all shapes and sizes. From cats, dogs, rats, and even reptiles, chances are, you might meet your fur-ever friend (sorry, I couldn’t resist). Let’s meet some of the attending rescues!
A non-profit, all-volunteer organization, whose mission is to rescue and re-home Golden Retrievers in Southern Arizona in safe, loving homes; thereby improving the lives of both the dog and the adoptive family. This rescue was founded by a group of experienced volunteers in response to the belief that limiting territory can provide more individualized care to the dogs and families. We feel this approach promotes a sense of community while helping the local economy. Plus, who wouldn’t want to snuggle up with all that fur!
Founded in the summer of 2012, Saving At Risk Animals is a nonprofit organization that works closely with Pima Animal Care Center to save sick, injured, or orphaned cats and kittens at risk of euthanasia. Each representative of SARA rescue works one-on-one with the animals, so they are very educated in each cat’s personality. These dedicated volunteers work hard to pair up each cat with their new best friend!
Tucson 2 Tails is an example of grassroots rescuing at its best. This rescue has been active in Tucson since March of 2012 and has found forever homes for hundreds of cats and kittens, saving valuable lives. Tucson 2 Tails also has a foster program that anyone can apply for! Want to be a temporary home for an animal in need or want to meet your new best friend? Tucson 2 Tails is right for you!
