There is nothing like the art community in Flagstaff. Rich with culture and variety, you can see works from local artists in almost every local business. From paintings to photography to the vast ceramics and sculpture community, our humble mountain town offers opportunity to the established and budding artist alike. Bookmans Flagstaff Cafe provides a venue where local artists display work and gain some recognition. Additionally, as part of our celebration of Arts and Crafts, we cleared a space on our store floor and asked four local artists to display their work as part of our Bookmans Flagstaff Local Artist Showcase. Each week we highlight a new artist. We are pleased to introduce these talented artists to the Bookmans blog readers.

Keri Pollard Artwork

Local painter Stephen Revering is a Bookmans alum, yoga instructor and Chicago Art Institute graduate. His creativity knows no bounds. We are happy to have had his work displayed in our store and to have heard the positive feedback from customers. Arizona abstract photographer Jaimie Harder also graced our walls with her pieces. From scenic views of the southwest to her creative use of glass in her photos, Harder’s photographs are pleasing to the eye as well as creative. We couldn’t have asked for a better start to our Local Artist Showcase than featuring these two talents.

The showcase is far from over as we display the work of painter Keri Pollard. Her large colorful pieces offer the perfect accent to any home or gallery. The final artist to be featured in the showcase is local photographer Zach Gonzalez. His work can be found on Instagram and WordPress under the name FlagInstaLife. Gonzalez’s photos were recognized nationally as part of USA Today‘s Your Take section.

Stop by Bookmans Flag any time during March to view the local talent. In addition to the Bookmans Flagstaff Local Artist Showcase, we display local artists’ work in our cafe. If you are an artist and interested in hanging some of your art in our cafe please contact our Events Liaison at Flagevents@Bookmans.com for more info.
