Bookmans News
Bookmans' Summer Kids Events kicks into full-swing this week with all six locations hosting fun, free events especially for children (and their parents!). At our three Tucson stores, Ben's Bells will inspire intentional kindness through their famous community art project; in Phoenix and Mesa, learn about creepy crawlies and desert critters; and in Flagstaff, Tony Norris bring his old-timey music and colorful stories.
We're celebrating the universal language (no, not love, but what's not to love?) with a month of in-store performances and events, concert ticket giveaways, and community music festivals.
All month long, we'll be giving away tickets to select shows at the Rialto Theatre. Keep an eye on bookmans.com - we'll be announcing our first giveaway very soon!
Bookmans is once again a proud sponsor of the Northern Arizona Pride Association's Pride in the Pines, the annual celebration of LGBTQ equality in Flagstaff and northern Arizona. On Saturday, June 13th, thousands will descend on Wheeler Park in downtown Flagstaff for a day of food, local vendors, and performances from headliners Crystal Waters and Catie Curtis, in addition to fifteen other music acts.
Join Bookmans and MOViN 97.5 for your chance to win tickets to see the New Kids on the Block! Swing by Bookmans Phoenix on Saturday, June 6th for your chance to see the pop sensations (Joey! Jonathan! Jordan! Danny! Donnie!) live in concert at the Dodge Theatre on July 12th. The MOViN Crew will be giving away tickets every 10 minutes from 11 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.
On May 29th, several members of Bookmans' staff worked with a fantastic group from Sonora, Mexico to coordinate a donation of over 1,000 children’s books to the non-profit organization Ponguinguiola in Obregon.
Six locations means six opportunities for kids to enjoy a FREE, family-friendly event at Bookmans! Our Summer Kids Events series is off to a fantastic start and this week will be no exception.
In honor of Music Month, we're giving away tickets for you (and a friend) to see Santigold at the Rialto Theatre in Tucson on Saturday, June 20th.
Bookmans is a proud sponsor of the seventh annual Flagstaff Music Festival, June 20-21, on Heritage Square in downtown Flagstaff. Enjoy two whole days of local music, artists, food, and vendors - and admission is FREE!
Kids (and their parents!) can experience the joy of creating music when the Civic Orchestra of Tucson presents their Musical Instrument Petting Zoo on Saturday, June 13th, from 11 a.m. to noon at Bookmans Speedway and 3-4 p.m. at Bookmans Ina.
Empower yourself through chess! 9 Queens Academy returns to Bookmans Speedway on Sunday, June 14th, from 2-4 p.m. and all ages and skill levels are welcome. 9 Queens is a non-profit organization dedicated to empowering women, girls, and at-risk youth through this timeless game of strategy.
Another week, another new batch of Summer Kids Events! Kids can create their own unique Bookmans t-shirt or bookmark, sit in on a special dinosaur story time, and experience the power of music with an interactive demonstration by Ear Candy.
In honor of Music Month, we're giving away tickets for you (and a friend) to see Cowboy Junkies and Son Volt at the Rialto Theatre in Tucson on Sunday, July 12th.
The Red Cross of Southern Arizona's Blood Mobile will be collecting blood donations in the Bookmans Speedway parking lot this Saturday, June 20th, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Swing by our Grant, Ina, or Speedway store locations on Saturday, June 20th, 2-4 p.m., and create a unique Father's Day card as a surprise for Dad on Sunday (Father's Day - don't forget!).
Get creative with an arts and crafts project taught by professional art teachers, learn about animals who make their home in the Grand Canyon with the Sierra Club, and experience magic, mime, masks, music, juggling, and audience participation galore at the Amazing Kirby Variety Show - it's another week of free Summer Kids Events at Bookmans!
In honor of Music Month, we're giving away tickets for you (and a friend) to see De La Soul at the Rialto Theatre in Tucson on Tuesday, July 28th.
Lots of great stuff happening in the stores (and elsewhere) this weekend, so we're lumping it all together into one big post of events awesomesauce.
Just a small reminder that all Bookmans locations will have special hours on Saturday, July 4th, in honor of Independence Day. We will open at 11 a.m. and close at 6 p.m. - just in time for those fireworks. The Bookmans crew wishes all of you a wonderful 4th of July!
Thanks to all of the kids (and their parents! and sometimes more than 100 of you at a single event!) who've made it out to our first month of Summer Kids Events.
