The Nintendo Switch has been out for a little over a year now, and I must say it is one of the most clever consoles Nintendo has come out with. Like, ever. IMHO, the Wii and Wii U were a bit of a flop. Although owning a Wii myself, it is frustrating sometimes using the motion sensor in the controller to aim directly at the sensor bar. You’re pointing the controller directly at the Wii yet nothing is happening. I JUST WANT TO PLAY THE GAME. Enter the Nintendo Switch and my new endless gaming smile. Nintendo Switch console with controller in red and blue

When videogame equipment gets in the way of enjoying your game, it makes the experience much less satisfying. This is especially true when I play with my friends who are even less into video games than me. It makes enjoying game time even more challenging. This, however, is not the case with the Nintendo Switch. I love basically everything about it. From the sleek high tech design to the flawless “switch” from a handheld device to in-home gaming on your TV, this device is gold.

When I first purchased the Nintendo Switch, I was hesitant about how well the device would work as both a handheld device and a gaming system for my TV. After all, this has never been done before. The system does this almost effortlessly without you having to do much. There is little to no work required when you want to switch your gameplay, which I really appreciate. It is extremely user-friendly, and once you connect your dock to the TV, there isn’t much more to do than that. You can simply slide the joy-cons off both ends of your switch, place your console screen into the dock, and use either of the two joy-cons on their own or place them in your joy con charging grip. Voila! Now you’re ready to play on the big screen.

Not only does the Switch have the convenience of portability and being in-home entertainment, but it also has tremendous graphics and easy gameplay. I have only played Super Mario Odyssey and Zelda: Breath of the Wild, so my review is based solely off of these two games. Though, I have to say that I am truly impressed by the amount of detail put into these games. I really felt immersed into the video game world.

Hands down, I think these are the two best games on the market for the Switch right now so I suggest you get your hands on these games ASAP (helpful hint – call or come into your local Bookmans to score these games because we do get them traded in regularly). Both games feature hours upon hours of gameplay, so they’re definitely worth it if you’re looking for a game that’ll keep you busy for a while. They’re pretty addicting, so you may find yourself having no life until you finish them! (#worthit)

The Switch is continually piquing people’s interests. From their awesome game line-up to their release of Nintendo Labo, the Switch is pushing boundaries never before seen in the video game universe. If you haven’t heard of Nintendo Labo yet, prepare to be amazed. Click here for a video of what to expect with Nintendo Labo. We’re guessing it’s going to be rad since you’re essentially turning cardboard into actual live creations that function with your Switch. Be ready to step into the future with this one. From pianos to robots to motorbikes, there isn’t much this device can’t do. There’s also an educational aspect to building these hands-on creations, which parents love. You’re not just staring at a screen anymore, you physically have to make something.

On top of that here are some of the best titles we’re looking forward to being released. We’ve heard Super Smash Bros. is in the making as well, which of course, is a video game legacy. Nintendo hasn’t released too many details about that one yet, but that’s another video game fans are eagerly waiting to be released.

If you’re looking for a new console I highly recommend you grab yourself a Switch. It will live up to your expectations whether it be through the actual top-notch console itself or all it can offer you entertainment wise. Like I mentioned earlier, check your local Bookmans to see if we have any consoles or games in stock. You won’t regret it.
