Other holidays like New Years, Christmas, and Valentine’s Day all have a plethora of films devoted to them. Easter, for some reason, gets so little love in the movie department. After a day filled with Easter egg hunts and Easter Bunny pictures, there is nothing wrong with a little post-Easter movie/nap to cap off the day’s events. Thankfully, there are some great Easter movies out there, and Bookmans is here to help you find the perfect Easter film for everyone. Here are our favorites!

  1. Here Comes Peter Cottontail (1971) – Peter Cottontail saves Easter from a dastardly villain! This movie has been a classic Easter tradition in families for decades. It has a superb story and also has a message about priorities which is easy for children to understand.
  2. The Easter Egg Adventure (2004) – The desperate residents of Egg Town make a perilous journey to retrieve and return home their stolen Easter eggs.
  3. Hop  (2011) – The Easter bunny’s son is now all grown up and dreaming of a musical career in Hollywood. Can he make his dreams come true? It’s a comedic coming of age tale sure to make the whole family smile.
  4. It’s the Easter Beagle, Charlie Brown (1974) – This is truly one of the classic Charlie Brown specials. Marcy wastes 3 dozen eggs trying different ways to cook them instead of hard-boiling them.  Snoopy goofs around in the mall and generously buys Woodstock a birdhouse. Then, of course, there’s the Easter Beagle. He comes to bring Easter eggs to all the good boys and girls in the world! Linus promotes his coming, but Sally isn’t willing to believe him after what happened during Halloween (in It’s The Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown). Will the Easter Beagle come? Will he dance with the bunnies, Peppermint Patty, Marcy, and even give crabby Lucy a kiss?
  5. Rise Of The Guardians (2012) – Based on William Joyce’s The Guardians of Childhood book series, The Easter Bunny joins his fellow holiday mascots Santa Claus, the Tooth Fairy, and Jack Frost to save the world from an impending blackout and doom!
