Independent Bookstore Day (IBD) is a one-day national party that takes place at indie bookstores across the country on the last Saturday in April. Just like Bookmans, every store is unique and independent, and every party is different. And as you know, Bookmans is more than a bookstore, we are a celebration of all things community!  To celebrate, we’ve put together a day of fun events and giveaways for you!  Not only that, you’ll be able to shop for Exclusive IBD merchandise, as well!

10 AM Where the Wild Things Are-Interactive Wild Rumpus with AZ Curriculum Theater

Join AZ Curriculum Theater (ACT) for a live and interactive reading of Maurice Sendak’s, Where the Wild Things Are.  While the story is read the audience acts it out. The Wild Rumpus involves jumping in place with noise makers, streamers and large paper confetti. It’s a wild rumpus, after all! Bookmans loves working with ACT Inc., a 501(c)(3) educational charity that connects the arts and the curriculum in the classroom.

3PM Dungeons and Dragons Heist Night

Are you a fan of D&D and want to try something different or have you been wanting to learn how to play but don’t know where to start? Hearken to the call of adventure and join us this afternoon at 3 PM where we will be hosting a “heist” where glory or failure awaits!Bring your own fifth level character or play with one of the characters provided. This event is all inclusive and everyone is welcome.
