The earliest EarthQuaker Devices (Hoof, Grand Orbiter, Disaster Transport, Hummingbird, Ghost Echo) were built in the basement of founder Jamie Stillman’s West Akron home, where he performed all essential functions by hand – populating circuit boards, soldering, screenprinting enclosures, assembly, packaging, and shipping. Since then, EarthQuaker Devices has grown into a massive community of over 50 employees and 40+ devices all made with the hands of passionate music-loving people.
