KA-POW! This March, we are celebrating the legacy of Will Eisner, the father of the graphic novel. Eisner has inspired millions of creators throughout the past hundred years and Bookmans will be featuring creators throughout Southern Arizona.

Join us on the @BookmansEast Facebook and Instagram feed at 12:00pm throughout the first week of March as we celebrate our favorite local creators, artists, and small local businesses in all things geeky.

Luis Silva
Luis Silva has always loved stories that reflect his life as a queer person of color in America, and has a life mission to make it so that stories that represent the under-represented are both numerous and accessible. As such, he founded his own publishing company, Creatively Queer Press, and is making his way in creative circles by writing stories with his dear friends, of every genre, that are both honest and fulfilling to the soul.

Paul Guinan
Multimedia artist Paul Guinan is a founding member of Helioscope Studio, the largest collective of comic book creators in North America. He started out at First Comics, retouching art on the very first manga translation published in the U.S., Lone Wolf and Cub. While at First, he co-created Cargonauts, a precursor to Firefly. Paul later teamed up with writer John Francis Moore to create the time-traveling hero Chronos for DC Comics. Paul’s innovative art for their graphic novel Heartbreakers Meet Boilerplate was nominated for the industry’s “Oscar,” an Eisner Award. In 2000 he created online stories about Boilerplate, a mechanical soldier at the turn of the previous century, that garnered international media coverage.
