Event Details

Art is created from personal experience. Learn how to turn your stories into music during the Story to Song Virtual Workshop, led by local musician Marieke Slovin.

Marieke is co-developer of a songwriting method called Story-to-Song, wherein a person is invited to share a story from their life and move through the creative process of shaping their story into a song. A ukulele is perfect for this event but any instrument is welcome!

You can purchase Marieke’s book, “On the Move: Poems and Songs of Migration,” in-store at Bookmans Phoenix. “On the Move” contains songs written by refugees and asylum seekers during Marieke’s time teaching this workshop in Brussels, Belgium.

RSVP to PhoenixEvents@bookmans.com for your Zoom link to the virtual workshop.
