Everyone’s favorite used bookstore is hosting a cornucopia of family-friendly events all summer long at each of our six state-wide locations. Join us for Free Summer Kids Events with fun-filled activities like mad science experiments and lego build-offs. Meet real-life mermaids and pirates as you sail the seven seas. Settle in for a jolly storytelling experience with puppets, magic and more. Free Summer Kids Events take place Friday at 10am. Here’s what we have coming your way:

June 2 – Lowell Observatory: Intergalactic Adventure

Go on an expedition through space with Lowell Observatory. Join Lowell Observatory to take an exciting tour through our solar system! Watch demonstrations that include dry ice, liquid nitrogen, a vacuum chamber, and more to learn about the properties of the Sun and planets.

June 9 – The Arboretum at Flagstaff: Butterfly Social

Come learn about pollinators with The Arboretum at Flagstaff! We will have fun, hands-on crafts and activities as well as the opportunity to see butterflies from our Southwest Butterfly House. Visit www.thearb.org to learn more about other programs and events for kids and families.

June 16 – Build a Better World with Flagstaff Library!

Join us for a summertime celebration of reading with stories, songs, and fun activities! Enjoy hands-on projects and a LEGO® free building station. We’ll also be offering information about our Summer Reading Challenge.

June 23 – LEGO Extravaganza

Everything is awesome at the LEGO® Extravaganza! Enjoy interactive activities including a LEGO® Free Build, puzzles and more. Strike a pose in the exclusive LEGO® photo booth. Make cool crafts to take home, win prizes and play fun games.

June 30 – The Wonder Factory Fest

The Wonder Factory is bringing STEM/STEAM based play in Flagstaff through interactive outreach. Join us for a fun and free mini festival, featuring The Wonder Factory. Make projects and go on virtual adventures through hands-on interactions with science, technology, engineering, art, and mathematics.

July 7 – Star Wars Scavenger Hunt

Visit a galaxy far, far away at our Star Wars scavenger hunt! Scour the store for clues and win prizes fit for a Jedi knight. Build custom pool noodle light sabers and get down with extra-terrestrial lifeforms. Wear your Star Wars best for a shot at winning the galactic costume contest. May the Force be with you!

July 14 – Museum of Northern Arizona: Walk on the Wild Side!

We’re celebrating the animals of Arizona! Join us for an Audobon adventure featuring fascinating facts about North American wildlife. Get to know the animal inhabitants of the Colorado Plateau and enjoy hands-on activities.

July 21 – Superhero Photo Booth

Zap! Bam! Pow! Strike an action pose for our Superhero photobooth! Try out one of our costumes, hats or masks – or come dressed as your favorite superhero. Decorate a photo frame to take home and make uncanny crafts with local artists. Bring your superpowers and have a blast!

July 28 – Back to School Bash 

Get ready for new school year adventures at our Back to School Bash! Celebrate with fun and free activities. Spin to win treasures on the prize wheel. Start school in style with your own custom-decorated backpack.
