Bookmans Flagstaff | Cafe Dreamin'
Did you know that Bookmans Flagstaff has a café? That’s right! Fantastic coffee is served to go with your binge reading and watching. With the cold weather moving in for fall and winter, Bookman’s Café is the perfect place to spend your day-off indoors. Our Café also carries a selection of yummy snacks made by local food artisans and coffee roasters. Read on to learn more about our partnerships with other local businesses that make our café extra delicious!
Bookmans Cafe serves Firecreek Coffee. Operating since 2008, Firecreek is run by coffee professionals that LOVE and know coffee. Bookmans Café uses their regular brewing beans and their espresso beans. Firecreek even has a decaf espresso if you want to take it easy on the caffeine. All of their flavors have their own distinct robustness and flavor. You can really taste the quality in the cold-pressed cold brew coffee. My favorite is the Guatemalan cold brew. I recommend trying just a regular cup of joe upon you first visit to the café to taste the quality for yourself. Our Campfire Blend has an easy going, balanced flavor. But if you need a little cream to tone it down, we keep it in a glass bottle in the fridge behind the counter so it stays extra fresh!
Bookmans Flagstaff often books events like Dylan Chapman Live Blues and Tiny Punches Improv for customers to enjoy. Around the corner where they keep the condiments there is cool one of a kind art for you check out while you dress your coffee.
Bookmans Café also serves bagesl from local buisness, Biff’s Bagels. This local bagelry has been a part of Flagstaff since 2000. Biff’s is named after the owners’ beloved dog that passed away. The little shop has since become a place for people to put up photos in remembrance of their passed pets. You can tell with your first bite that these guys do bagels right! They’re soft but chewy and dense, so it’s a filling snack or breakfast. The selection at Biff’s is amazing! Salt bagels, pumpkin spice bagels…sometimes even GREEN CHILI bagels! And the list goes on. The Bookmans Café usually carries spinach, everything, asiago, plain and sesame. The bagels available in the cafe vary depending on the day of the week.
What better thing to eat with a cup of fresh brewed coffee than a freshly baked treat? Bookmans Café proudly serves Artisan Kitchen baked goods and Mountain Air sweet breads. Both businesses are locally owned and operated.
Artisan cookies are the best! The centers are soft and chewy and the edges are the perfect crispy salty/sweet first bite. (I usually ‘cheat’ and break the cookie in half to get right to the center). Along with cookies, they deliver delicious, buttery glazed scones in lemon, cranberry orange and chocolate chip. All of the goods are baked to perfection: moist and just ever so sweet!
Mountain Air sweet bread is classic, home baked goodness! But really, the owner does have a commercial kitchen at home so the products are REALLY home baked. Samantha the owner has perfected classic sweet bread recipes that remind you of that favorite grandma, auntie or neighbor who always baked for your birthday or holiday. My favorite is the zucchini bread, but many Café customers go for the pumpkin and banana bread combos. These include pumpkin chocolate chip, banana strawberry, banana Reese’s Pieces and banana lavender. Every loaf is sliced into thick pieces and they are always so soft and scrumptious!
In addition to these amazing café partners, there is also a fun loving, generous crew that can’t wait to see you! Just ask any of the regulars – some of them have been coming to the café and ordering the same drink for almost 5 years. The café team can create the perfect drink to satisfy any customer. Are you vegan? We can make a vegan mocha. Are sugar free? We have a selection of sugar free syrup (and there’s a chocolate one too!) Are you lactose intolerant? We have soy, almond and coconut milk available. Not too keen on coffee? We have an amazing selection of loose leaf teas, Italian soda flavors, and chai.
No matter which Bookmans is your Bookmans, if you’re ever passing through the north country be sure to swing by the Bookmans Flagstaff location to grab a drink on your way through. We always look forward to meeting customers from our other stores. Cheers!
