As many of you know, Bookmans is very much a pet friendly place. Whether furry or scaled or feathered, all four legged, slithery and winged individuals are welcome in our stores. In fact we not only coo at the sight of a pup perusing our shelves, we also devote the entire month of July to Animal Welfare. We pack in the adoption events, get crafty with DIY pet toys and even get acquainted with our Arizona desert neighbor, the beloved desert tortoise, all for our annual Dog Days of Summer celebration.

Bookmans Flagstaff  invites reptile enthusiasts to join us for an Exotic Animal Extravaganza with the folks of Aqua Tera. America Reads of NAU will also stop in for a reading circle and Seussabration.

Saturday Morning Story Time at Bookmans Mesa celebrates animal welfare month with a special kitten story time. Author of Blueberry Bear, Eileen Pieczonka, will be hanging out for a Bookmans Author Signing, and Arizona Adopt a Greyhound will be bringing by Greyhounds in need of furrrrrever homes.

Ever wanted to know what your pet is up to when you’re at school? Well now’s your chance to find out! Bookmans Phoenix gets ready for Dreamworks’ The Secret Life of Pets with crafts and games. And don’t miss your chance to Meet Your New Best Friend in store and take home a new pet.

Bookmans Speedway will host a wide variety of adoption events with organizations like Bridge Rescue and S. AZ Golden Retriever Rescue. Check out the animal reiki demos with Andra’s Animal Reiki and Pima Paws for Life.

Craftapalooza at Bookmans Ina celebrates Dog Days of Summer with DIY cat toys. If you’re more of a dog person, later in the month you can make your best friend a dog toy at Woof Woof Craftapalooza. HOPE Animal Shelter will stop by not once but twice! Stop in and meet these lovable pets in need of homes from  this awesome no kill, cage-free animal shelter.

Bookmans Grant will host a Local Author Fair where you can rub elbows with some of the best authors Arizona has to offer. And don’t miss DIY Animal Treats with bird feeders and all natural dog treats!
