Oh, happy day! Nationwide marriage equality affirmed by SCOTUS and Bookmans Flagstaff celebrated at the 19th annual Pride in The Pines the very next day. We couldn’t ask for a better way to commemorate this occasion than by handing out sexy prizes to Pride participants. Bookmans continued our support of Pride in the Pines, partying it up with other vendors and organizations and celebrating diversity. If you missed Pride this year, then sit back in voyeur mode. We plan to brag vigorously through this blog post!

Rainbow flags and bright smiles flew as Flagstaffians took to Thorpe Park to celebrate the LGBTQ community. Music bumped with performances by Flag locals including Velo Valo and Tuscon’s Musical Mayhem Cabaret, whose rendition of Season of Love from the musical Rent had us in tears. No performance could top that of the gorgeous Manila Luzon. This fierce queen of drag had us in awe. From her fab style, to her one of a kind facial expressions, to the fact that she is absolutely hilarious between songs. Ms. Luzon had us wishing desperately to don couture, have Sassoon worthy hair and lip sync to our favorite pop songs in front of adoring crowds. Girl has it going on.

The main stage wasn’t the only place gathering crowds. Our Bookmans booth was also quite the hotspot. Why? Because of our titillating prizes, of course! This is a family friendly blog so we won’t go into too much detail. We can safely say that by answering a few questions on our jeopardy board Bookmans visitors could take home a fun board game to play later in the bedroom. Bow chicka wow wow! We also had our famous skull stickers and coupons for those not interested in the naughtier side of the prize table.

We couldn’t be happier to put throw our support behind Pride in the Pines. Northern Arizona Pride Association never cease to amaze and their contribution to this community is what makes living in Flagstaff so great. Bookmans celebrates diversity every day in our stores. We strive to lead by example, celebrating the unique differences and traits that make each and every one of us an individual. With what took place on June 26, we are, quite simply put, overjoyed. It is about darn time to recognize #LoveWins.
