Ticket Tuesdays — The Dillinger Speakeasy
***CONTEST CLOSED***
Notorious Depression-era outlaw John Dillinger lives large at 7 p.m. on Friday, January 22 at the annual Dillinger Speakeasy. The event, held at historic Hotel Congress where Dillinger was first captured, includes whiskey tastings, burlesque performances, cigar samplings and live entertainment to envy the 1920s. Know your onions–this Ticket Tuesday Bookmans gives away a pair of passes to a lucky John or Billie!
This event, part of Tucson’s Dillinger Days, includes a gun show, a photo booth, catered refreshments from Hotel Congress’ Cup Café and showcases the original fire engine that assisted in putting out out the flames that led to Dillinger and the gangs’ arrest in 1934 during their stay at the historic hotel. Foxtrot, waltz and Lindy Hop the night away to performances by Katherine Byrnes and Jeff Haskell, the Dancehall Darlings and Kings of Pleasure.
Try your luck in our comment section by telling us your secret speakeasy password for a chance to win entry to a night of 1920s style celebrating. We’ll allow 24 hours for commenting. Please do not resubmit your comments — one is plenty.
Win our passes or be your own sugar daddy and purchase tickets online. Tickets are $25 and proceeds benefit the Greater Tucson Fire Foundation. Quite fitting, doncha think?
