Ticket Tuesdays — In the Mood
**CONTEST CLOSED**Travel to the days of zoot suits, wing tips and killer swing dance skills! The music of Glenn Miller, Tommy Dorsey and Benny Goodman is coming to town. Don’t miss your chance to get in on some classic String of Pearls and I Found A New Baby swing. This Ticket Tuesday, we give away passes for In the Mood at Mesa Arts Center.
In the Mood runs from April 7 through April 12, 2015 at Mesa Arts Center’s Piper Repertory Theater. Revel in timeless music and lively dancing. More from Mesa Arts Center: Hop aboard the “Chattanooga Choo Choo” and you’ll soon be “In the Mood” to hear some great musicians “Sing, Sing, Sing.” Much more than just a concert, In the Mood is a fully staged tribute to Glenn Miller, Tommy Dorsey, Benny Goodman and all the big band greats of the ’40s. Complete with costumes and choreography, In the Mood pays homage to America’s greatest generation, when people listened and boogied to up-tempo big band rhythms and danced to intimate ballads. Many of the musical arrangements were written by Vic Schoen, the conductor and arranger for The Andrews Sisters, and Music Director for both Universal and Paramount Pictures. Experience the swing, the rhythm and the jazzy, brassy, sentimental music of this pivotal time in America’s history.
To enter our Ticket Tuesday giveaway, tell us in our comment section about your favorite era of American music. Would you Charleston with flappers, two-step to Hank Williams or flashdance to 1980s pop? Of course, lindy-hopping to the sultans of swing is also an excellent choice. We will select a winner using random.org. We’ll allow 24 hours for commenting. Winners will be notified by e-mail sometime on Wednesday, March 24. Comments are moderated and may take some time to appear. Please do not resubmit your comments — one is plenty.**CONTEST CLOSED**

I like all kinds of American music, but particularly Ragtime and also musicals such as “Singin’ in the Rain.”
Oh my goodness, I would love to take my Grandma to this…she can still dance the Charleston better than anyone I know!
My favorite era is the 60’s but love all music!
