As part of our belief that it pays to shop local, each and every Friday this November Bookmans Mesa hosts our annual Freebie Fridays. This series showcases different local businesses every week. It’s also your chance to experience parts of the East Valley that deserve a broader audience and show some #LocalLove. Shopping local is so important because it keeps out tax dollars within our own city, providing for social and community services. It also helps the local business owners return the favor and stock locally sourced products.
Shopping local means we’re strengthening our communities again, and making sure brick and mortar stores don’t fall by the wayside. Small businesses thrive and depend on community support.
I like to support my community and local jobs, and I find more unique things locally.
Shopping local supports our community by employing our local people which allow us to keep good citizens that pay taxes and thrive here. It also keeps our tax dollars in the community and provides more places for locals to go. People are forgetting social skills and have an inherent need to socialize and be around other humans, without places to shop and meet the humans will simply become islands within themselves.
Shopping local means supporting the shops, restaurants, and most importantly the people who are trying to be innovative and creating something special from the ground up. Plus, these end up being some of the best shops and tastiest restaurants at times!
