How do you use your curbside service during Covid 19?
Thank you, Skye
All of the information you need can be found right here https://bookmans.com/curbside-shopping-and-trade/. We hope to see you soon!
With the spike in cases and tonight’s resuming shutdown, what now makes your store safer than a bar or pool which cannot operate? Our understanding is that your store’s population is currently limited to 75, yet the new order prohibits gatherings of 50 or more, so is it responsible to your clientele or employees or our city for you as an establishment to even be open? Bookmans has always considered itself more conscientious than that, hasn’t it?
Rules and regulations are changing on a day-by-day basis and the order was given literally hours before you commented. Bookmans is still in the process of examining our options for the safety of all.
Why attack them? Lot easier to maintain social distance in Bookmans than in a bar…
The size of the these stores, at least in my neighborhood, has such a huge capacity that 75 people, plus 15 staff can all be inside standing 10 feet apart at almost all times. This store is around 5,000 square feet, maybe as much as 7,000. Two or three three bedrooms two bath HOuSES could fit inside it. I do not think it is an unreasonable risk considering the side of the venue, and also the nature of book shopping which is rarely a group activity. At most, you might go with a spouse or a loved one and look at books together, side by side, but that’s fine because the two of your LIVE together. Keeping this venue open will help keep people sane, give them affordable access to materials that can give them knowledge to cope, as well as a healthy escape, and provide gaming resources for everything from board games, to RPGs, to video games, which have helped keep countless people from tipping over the edge to suicidal melancholy, as have books. Bars are necessarily crowded, group-oriented venues, designed for socializing with strangers and friends alike, and for drinking while doing so. While I respect the value of this past time as a traditional human method of connecting and relieving stress, I do not feel that alcohol and carousing is as healthful and productive as reading, and shopping for books is often a solitary affair. I for one pray whole heartedly, (despite my support of masks, and support of all of their health-preserving restrictions, and the need for caution) that they find creative ways to stay open safely, even if it means turning away people who will not respect the rules. I have not been out in a recreational activity besides walking my dogs for six months. I would very much like the bookstore to stay open long enough for me to go at least once before the world burns to the ground.
Oh screw off Robert leave Bookmans alone.
Is the Flagstaff cafe part still open?
Yes, our Flag Cafe is currently open for pickups!
We went to the AZ Mesa location my husband was wearing a mask as best he could with his disorder. He was met by an employee who told him to pull his mask up more. My husband informed him that he had a disorder and rather than offering any accommodations the employee remained persistent about my husbands mask, my husband took our kids and left I went to talk to the employee about the fda rules and regs on disorders and that the gov’s orders covered them as well he was rude and disrespectful telling me it needed to cover his own mask while this employee didn’t even have his nose covered as soon as I pointed it out to him he argued with me and I explained proper placement for the mask before he finally fixed his it was loos and not covering his whole nose but he had the nerve to accuse my husband of what he failed to follow himself. The man then called me a sir! I am not a sir and I told him I’m not a sir and to not call me that again. I turned and left due to the blatant rudeness and the fact he pointed my husband out when he himself was wearing his mask the same damn way which I read above his outside your mask wearing guidelines. What are you doing to accommodate those with disorders? Because this man didn’t offer anything for my husband and I’m appealed at how he treated the situation and how he treated me and my husband.
I am sorry that you had a difficult experience shopping with us due to our Covid-19 policies. Bookmans stores are offering curbside pick up and trade at our stores for anyone who cannot wear a mask or has difficulty wearing a mask. You can find the link for those services here – https://bookmans.com/curbside-shopping-and-trade/.
So I can still sell stuff here?
Yes, and we are even taking appointments for in-store trade. You can schedule your preferred time and not have to wait for walk-in service. All of the info and the appointment link is here > rb.gy/awi1of
Do any of your stores have a copy of Super Smash Bros. Melee? If so, what is the price? What is your average price on amiibos? Thank you!
Hello Juan! We do not have an online inventory, but you can always call to speak with a staff member who will check their stores’ stock. All of our stores’ phone numbers are here: https://bookmans.com/#stores
Why do I need a paper mask in your store if I’m using a face shield? The shield covers from forehead to ears down below the chin. That makes no sense at all. You’re the only store requiring a shield and mask. No where does AZ law state you need both. It just needs to be a covering of the face. You should really update the policy because you lost my business.
We’re sorry to hear that, Chris. We are using best practices for our store mask policies, and current advice is that masks, not face shields, are the better form of protecting others around you from coming into contact with exhalation droplets. We have a lot of customers and employees (and their families) to look out for, so we are doing what we believe is best for all.
My wife and I walked out of your store because of a mask policy that is not based on a shred of scientific validation yet you blindly parrot what you’ve been told by the authorities. Let me elaborate as a physician:
1. The CDC in it’s own website under the testing positive section states you can test positive if you’ve been exposed to and recovered from the flu since the there are 40 or more viruses from the Corona family that cause the flu that share almost identical genetic material, a fact most people are unaware of. Also exposure to wireless frequencies can cause your body to shed genetic particles. The latest research with the media has conveniently censored has revealed exposure to 5G causes the body to produce Corona viruses via inductive transmission of frequencies via skin cell DNA.
2. The CDC and WHO have admitted asymptomatic transmission is highly unlikely.
3. There is not ONE Randomized Controlled Clinical study that validates the claim that masks stop transmission of the virus which is too small to be trapped by a mask. Whereas there are several randomized peer reviewed studies dating back 10 years that have concluded not only is a mask useless, but trapped moisture facilitates reinhalation of exhalation products and pathogens back into the user increases chances of getting ill from 40-80%.
4. The mask also can reduced blood oxygen levels by up to 20% inducing brain hypoxia causing serious damage to the body. Add to that the practice of people reusing the masks over and over grossly contaminating them when you are supposed to don them with sterile hands and discard them after each use. You are bathing your face with pathogens.
5. The mask usage is only a guideline and not law; Governors and health departments do not have the legal authority to pass legislation which in this instance is non existent. only the legislature has that authority . In addition even if such laws were in place they cannot violate your basic Constitutional rights.
6. You as a private business can, however enforce this asinine requirement at your own peril and risk getting sued; especially if you deny someone with a medical exemption. You cannot demand their health condition to be identifies since that would violate HIPPA Law. You also risk violating the American Disabilities ACT if you refuse entry to someone with a medical exemption..
These policies implemented are anything but what one would consider Best Practices.. Recently Big Box retailers such as Walmart, Home Depot Lowe’s, etc have reversed their mask policy in anticipation of issues I mentioned above.
We are using best practices for our store mask policies. We have a lot of customers and employees (and their families) to look out for, so we are doing what we believe is best for all.
Thanks for responding. I guess you did not read and digest the content of my letter based upon your response. Best Regards.
Dude, you’re a chiropractor, not a doctor. https://www.healthgrades.com/providers/sailesh-balakrishnan-2mqxh Not sure chiropractors have any CDC training, but I’ll check with New Vision to see what qualifications you have on this subject to make you an expert on infectious diseases and mask wearing in Pima County.
Also, Bookman’s is a business- if you don’t their policy, tough shit hombre. Bookman’s can require their customers to wear toilet paper in their ears, hop and skip on one leg, and sing “Blue Moon’ as their policy to enter. It’s up to us to go if we want.
Kudos to you for checking his credential! Lots of Toms, Dicks and Harries declare themselves as experts on Covid-19 but never even treated patients in real life!
LOL about the comical example of Bookman’s entry policy….
I sincerely thank you for speaking up for Bookman and for the truth!
Also as a “doctor” you might want to learn how to spell HIPAA. Just sayin.
??????
Does your store sell comics?
Yes, all of our stores sell graphic novels and comic books! We have everything from $1 or less issues to collector’s editions and complete series.
Visiting the Flagstaff store, my wife is a teacher and has a few boxes of books and such to trade in. Can she bring one box
into the store and leave the others at your curbside service to be looked at??
Thanks
Hello Mike! I would suggest making an appointment so that she can bring in 3 boxes at a time for trade. If she arrives with more than one box, our staff will ask her to make an appointment for additional boxes. Curbside trade also requires an appointment, and you can schedule that here: https://bookmans.com/curbside-shopping-and-trade/. Thanks!
Thank You
