Vision Boards can be made any way you’d like! There are no rules for picturing joy and happiness in your life.

We’ll talk about goals, manifesting, and making our world all that we would have it be. . . . . . then get to work on our creating the vision boards to make it all come to life.

We’ll provide poster board, glue, scissors and supplies – but feel free to bring anything else you’d like – your own magazines, construction paper, or stickers. Or bring your laptop/tablet and create your board digitally!

Join Tucson’s former Poet Laureate, TC Tolbert, for a free trans, non-binary, queer+ poetry workshop/creative space. We’ll explore LGBTQ+ poetry and you’ll have a chance to write and create. No previous poetry experience necessary and sharing is always optional.

TC Tolbert (he/him/hey grrrl) is a trans and genderqueer monkey-goat who never ceases to experience a simultaneous grief and deep love any time s/he pays attention to the world. S/he writes poems, works with wood, learns, teaches, and wanders. In 2019, TC was awarded an Academy of American Poets’ Laureate Fellowship for his work with trans, non-binary, and queer folks. Publications include Gephyromania (Ahsahta Press, 2014/Nightboat Books, 2022) and five chapbooks. TC is also co-editor (along with Trace Peterson) of Troubling the Line: Trans and Genderqueer Poetry and Poetics (Nightboat Books 2013). The Quiet Practices won the Chad Walsh Chapbook Prize at Beloit Poetry Journal and was published in Fall 2023. TC lives in Tucson, AZ where s/he was the Poet Laureate from 2017-2025.

Join us on the 3rd Saturday of the month at Bookmans Mesa for a day celebrating the ukulele! Our guest instructor Maria can’t wait to help you learn to jam on these incredibly accessible instruments. We will learn simple chords and how to play two or three songs. This beautiful instrument was brought from Portugal to Hawaii and is recognized all around the world as an island instrument but now we bring it to the Arizona desert.

The event is free and open to the public. All skill levels are welcome. Bring your own ukulele or pick one up here at Bookmans’ Musical Instrument Department for a great price and join in!

We’ll talk about goals, manifesting, and making our world all that we would have it be. . . . . . then get to work on our creating the vision boards to make it all come to life.

We’ll provide poster board, glue, scissors and supplies – but feel free to bring anything else you’d like – your own magazines, construction paper, or stickers. Or bring your laptop/tablet and create your board digitally!

June 4 – The Great Arizona Puppet Theater presents “My Pet Dinosaur” The play tells the story of a little boy who gets an unusual present for his birthday — a dinosaur egg!

June 11 – World Wildlife Zoo presents “Creatures of the Night” This program discusses adaptations of nocturnal animals as well as the benefits of being nocturnal.

June 18 – Mad Science presents “Up, Up, and Away” This spellbinding special event introduces children to the principles of air and pressure.

June 25 – A Toy Party – Join us for a sing-along, crafts, and photo op featuring our favorite cowboy and space ranger!

July 2 – Phoenix Herpetological Society presents “Desert Safety” What kinds of reptiles are venomous and non-venomous in Arizona? How do we stay safe around these reptiles? Learn about the variety of unique reptiles Arizona is home to and how we can safely coexist with them.

July 9 – Phoenix Mermaid Join us for mermaid story-time along with ocean knowledge shared by our favorite stewards of the sea!

July 16 – Jolly Roger Jolly Roger’s magic show is filled with clever magic, puppets, always lots of laughter and plenty of audience participation!

July 23 – Phoenix Zoo presents “Critter Cuisine” What’s on the menu in the wild? In this tale of animal diets, we will explore what different critters like to eat—from crunchy bugs to juicy berries! We will meet live ambassador animals and find out what’s on their real-life menus. Come hungry for learning!

July 30 – Jungle Jill Jungle Jill will bring live animals to you, up close and interactive, for an unforgettable, educational experience!

Join us on the 3rd Saturday of the month at Bookmans Mesa for a day celebrating the ukulele! Our guest instructor Maria can’t wait to help you learn to jam on these incredibly accessible instruments. We will learn simple chords and how to play two or three songs. This beautiful instrument was brought from Portugal to Hawaii and is recognized all around the world as an island instrument but now we bring it to the Arizona desert.

The event is free and open to the public. All skill levels are welcome. Bring your own ukulele or pick one up here at Bookmans’ Musical Instrument Department for a great price and join in!

June 3rd: Jungle Jill – Creepy Crawlies
Jungle Jill brings an up close and interactive wildlife experience featuring some of nature’s most fascinating (and sometimes misunderstood!) creatures. Kids will meet spiders, snakes, insects and other “creepy crawlies” while learning fun facts about their habitats and behaviors in a safe, engaging environment.

June 10th: Jolly Roger
Prepare to be amazed and amused with Jolly Roger’s high energy magic show! Packed with laughs, audience participation and mind-blowing tricks, this performance is always a family favorite and guarantees plenty of giggles.

Doesn’t matter if you’ve never made a Vision Board before or if you’re old pro. It’s all about visualizing your perfect life & making your dreams come true. Make 2026 the best year of your life so far.

Vision Boards can be made any way you’d like! There are no rules for picturing joy and happiness in your life.

We’ll talk about goals, manifesting, and making our world all that we would have it be. . . . . . then get to work on our creating the vision boards to make it all come to life.

We’ll provide poster board, glue, scissors and supplies – but feel free to bring anything else you’d like – your own magazines, construction paper, or stickers. Or bring your laptop/tablet and create your board digitally!
