Freebie Friday: Rebelution Rocks PHX
**CONTEST CLOSED**As summer swelters in Arizona, a little beach-inspired relief is headed to the Valley of the Sun. California roots & reggae band, Rebelution will grace the renowned Comerica Theatre this Thursday, Aug 11 at 7:00 p.m. Along with fellow bands, The Green, Stick Figure and Through the Roots, Rebelution brings their unique brand of ska-infused, jam-band grooves to town. Don’t miss this opportunity to attend a stellar summer concert. Tickets start at $35, but not to worry: this Freebie Friday, we’re giving away two tickets to see Rebelution live in Phoenix.
From Austin City Limits to Outside Lands, Rebelution is frequently a fixture at high profile music festivals across the globe. Founded in the beach-side town of Isla Vista, California, the band has been going strong since 2004. Collegemates-turned-bandmates, Eric Rachmany, Matt Velasquez, Rory Carey, Wesley Finley and Marley D. Williams put their musical abilities together and the rest is history. Known for their intriguing melodies, forward-thinking lyrics, and unique arrangements, Rebelution is a leader among American reggae-fusion ensembles. Their album, Courage to Grow earned an iTunes Editor’s Choice for Best Reggae Album of 2007. The single from that album, “Safe and Sound”, made it’s way around the airwaves from San Diego’s 91X to Los Angeles’s KROQ and beyond. Get into the Pacific Coast spirit this Freebie Friday and try your luck at winning passes from Bookmans!

Touché. Haven’t met an Autumn I didn’t like yet!
Vacation by the Go Gos. Wanted one really bad but couldn’t this year due to surgery.
Awesome! But so sorry to hear about the surgery. Thanks for entering!
“Island in the Sun” by Weezer…. The song makes the sometimes brutal Arizona heat feel not so bad!.. hip, hip!!! 😀
We hear that! Love the positivity!
When I hear Jazz say, “Drums, please!” to the beginning of “Summertime” by DJ Jazzy Jeff and The Fresh Prince, I know it’s time to enjoy that bassline in the summertime! Thank you for the opportunity, Bookmans!
It really is something special to be able to listen to such awesome tunes. Good luck Michael, and thanks!
“Mexico” from James Taylor. I spent a lot of my childhood summers in Mexico and I recall this song playing in one of my “swim with dolphins” videos. That and I went to Cancun this summer. I just want to forget about life and go back right now…
Don’t we all Paola?! Good luck on the contest!

Good People by The Black Seeds. This song embodies everything good in getting together with friends and family during the summer leisure months. “Party to get down, not to fall down.”
